Betsy is a beautiful blue brindle who came to us with a broken leg. She broke her leg during a race in which she actually finished 4th! This sweet little girl was taken to a vet who supposedly x-rayed and set the fracture (between the pastern and hock of the rear right leg) and put it in a cast.
The cast was only on for a couple of weeks, and when she came up to be fostered by me, she had a serious infection where the cast had caused a sore by rubbing on the end of the hock.
While in for her spay, my vet x-rayed the leg, and it does not appear that it was ever set (although she may have reinjured the leg if the cast was removed too soon). We have been unable to obtain the original x-rays from the original vet.
Betsy is in her forever home now, but still requires orthopedic surgery to correct this leg as she is currently unable to walk or stand for long periods without pain. She is a loving and gentle girl who deserves better that life has dealt her thus far, and we want to help her get it.
Unfortunately, the surgery for this poor dear will cost upwards of $2,000.00. Her new mommy doesn't have that kind of money, so we are trying to raise at least some of the funds to help cover the cost of her surgery. Donations may be made thru paypal, at the following account:
